Today, I had my final Progress Review (PR) call with my managers, marking the end of my year as the Teach For America Campus Campaign Coordinator for my university. Not sure how I really feel about that. It feels weird.
I can say one thing for certain: being a CCC has been the best learning experience of my college career, and probably the best thing I could have done to prepare for the corps. I attribute this mostly to my amazing, amazing managers. I think I’ve said this before, but I can’t praise them enough. They have been the most awesome Teach For America role models I could possibly imagine, as they constantly embody all of our core values and beliefs, and work relentlessly every single day for educational equity. I was truly blessed to have this opportunity and I will be forever grateful for IM and MP for their guidance and support, and for their faith in my ability to lead our efforts on campus. And for the Chipotle. That was good too.
On a less sappy note, I got a call from my TTL yesterday!!! “TTL” stands for “Transition Team Leader” and this is the person who will serve as my guide and go-to person for all things DC and life-in-the-corps related. She’ll take charge of our little group during Induction and I’ll be able to pick her brain about things like housing and transportation in DC, what to bring to Institute, what to expect at Institute, what NOT to do, etc. I’m excited to finally get assigned to a TTL because I have LOTS of questions. I have a feeling I’m going to drive her crazy. Awesome!
